Find the circle among the symbols
The circle is the professional textile-care symbol. A crossed-out circle indicates that dry cleaning is not permitted. Find the whole care label, including any written instructions, and photograph it clearly. Other symbols on the label cover washing, bleaching, drying or ironing.
Leave the process letters to the professional
Letters inside a professional-care symbol identify permitted processes for the cleaner. Underlines provide additional process restrictions. A letter inside a circle does not tell you to buy a household solvent. Show the complete label to the cleaner before agreeing to a service.
Point out the garment’s construction
Tell the counter staff about stains, previous cleaning and any attached trim or decoration. Ask them to check the label against the garment itself. If the label is missing or unreadable, say so and ask how they will assess it before proceeding.
Record the agreed service
Confirm which service the cleaner recommends for that garment and whether any part needs separate handling. Check the item description and collection details on the receipt. Keep the label photograph with your order so you can refer to it if there is a question later.
